The Cabin at Strongate
Enjoy Seclusion near the Jurassic Coast
The Cabin
The Cabin is a secluded, comfy static cabin located in it's own orchard at Strongate Farm. It is the perfect base for families wanting to experience peace and quiet and explore the Jurassic coast and countryside. It is in a rural setting on a small working farm, surrounded by trees with a bridleway running through the farm so a walk from your doorstep can be enjoyed at any time of the day. The stunning Jurassic coastline harbour of West Bay (the location of Broadchurch on TV) is less than 4 miles away.

We stayed there for 4 nights and it was a great base to explore the surrounding area. With being in a working farm, it would be great for children but for me and my husband, the serenity and calmness of the place were a great comfort due to us working from home the last 7 months. Tessa and her dad Bob kept the place clean, provided hand sanitiser due to the pandemic and a lovely gesture of giving us a delicious coffee cakes on our last night. We love the place and hoping to visit again soon. read less

We received a warm welcome at the very cosy cottage, everything thought of and Tessa even made us apple cake and her Dad picked fresh mushrooms for us! A thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable break.

The cabin was perfect for us – two adults, a 4 year old and 1 year old. Tessa put up the travel cot next to the single bed – our kids loved sleeping right next to each other. The kitchen / living area is surprisingly spacious with a nice view through the apple trees.
The kids loved the animals – sheep, geese, chickens and cows. There was also a swing and trampoline. They loved exploring the farm – particularly the old tractors and farm equipment (closely supervised of course).
A great base to explore the Jurassic coast – we found fossils at Lyme Regis, enjoyed the cliff walks at West Bay and even took at dip in the sea. read less - Rebecca
Lovely rural cottage surrounded by fields, with lots of animals and paths to explore. Great space for kids with trampoline and swing plus helping with the chickens. Bit chilly in the evenings but good electric fire provided.

We slept like logs. Milk in the fridge for our arrival and welly boots to borrow were extra little touches. Tess responded immediately to any questions, we really enjoyed our stay despite the rain.
